This is another ‘Mystery’ suite, with eleven movements, and makes a spectacular Concert Presentation for the solo instrument. But it does not make a great use of multiphonics.
Technically it can be classed as of "Moderate" difficulty. But of course even an ‘easy’ piece can be difficult to really play musically and well.
The eleven movements comprise: Intrada, The Forgotten Faery, Elven, Dream, Dance of the Elven King, Sarabande for a Faery, Elven Waltz, Goblin In Love, Elevens and the Silver Birch (I like this one, in two sections), The Two Faeries (again, a two section movement) and Goblin Dance.
This is a long extended Suite, although each movement is fairly short. At public performance it is not necessary to play all eleven, but The Forgotten Faery, Sarabande for a Faery and The Two Faeries should be included.
I hope you enjoy this Suite as much as I do! |
